| Hi, I'll be a college sophomore in the fall and I'm majoring in Russian History. I'm planning on studying abroad during my junior year (Fall of 2009) in Russia, most likely in Moscow. I've looked online and it seems a lot of study abroad sites with programs in Russia are located in St. Petersburg rather than Moscow. Since I'd really like to do my study abroad in Moscow, are there any good, well-known programs or companies that have programs in Moscow? I've checked through Moscow State University, and while it seems they have something of the sort, I really couldn't get that much specific or detailed information off their website. If anyone could direct me to that or any other university in Moscow with a similar program, that would be wonderful. Thanks!! |

Hi! Not sure if you will have sorted anything yet but my experience is that the information is very much hidden and knowing someone already in the department is the only guaranteed way to go. Unless you pay a lot more and go through something like sras.org or agencies.
What sort of subject were you looking to study (this may seem an odd question) and what teaching language (is your Russian fluent?)
Good luck |

Nope, still just looking. I still have a good amount of time, at least until the beginning of next year until I really need to get underway about looking for something. My Russian is not fluent, but it's decent. And yeah, I figured as much since not much information was available at all.
I really just wanted to use the semester to improve my Russian and take classes that I can use towards my major, so anything history related would probably be the way I'd be headed. |

SRAS is the company that I am going through, to Moscow State University. My department recommended it to me.

| I went through CCIS at Truman State University although I am a Russian Language Major at San Diego State University. Check out the program- its held at Moscow University of Humanities and really affordable, and I must admit, the teachers were AMAZING! They also have a really cool cultural program- 2 excursions a week to see the different places in Moscow. If you are into seeing the city check out this program. If you have any more questions, feel free to email me! |
