Does my wife need written travel permission from me before my son can leave russia?

My wife said she just hear of this.

If I need to give her permission, is it possible to do this in the USA, because that is were I am living currently?

Thanks.

As far as I know, this is required for any child traveling alone.

In Chile, a child under 18 can´t leave the country without a written permission of their parents.

The info should not be hard to acquire though.

Good luck!

I have experience of this. The "missing" parent must go to a Notary and say that the mother (or father) can travel without needing their permission. If written in English, it must be officially translated into Russian and Notorised by A Russian Notary. I did mine at the Russian Embassy in London. Hope that helps.
