Ok. And for me, "made in China" means "it has the appearance of a product but it's not a product"
2nd: What "made in India" suggest to you? |

Too small amount of information. I have two things from India. First one is some medicine. It worked, it cured me, it didn't kill me. Second is steel touristic cup. Three years of service and still working. I guess I will lose it someday or I will crush it having fallen or stepped on it. So, I think they produce good goods.
Oh, yes. Sometimes I have to rewrite their program code. It simply awful.
BTW, about China. I think we are not 100% correct. For example my sport stuff have labels Salomon and Columbia. They are perfect and they were made in China. |

Actually "made in China" doesn't mean it is a chinese product, it only means that the production take place in China... unfortunatly for European and American workers.
To take the example given by Ender :
Salomon is a french brand which delocalized its production to China for obvious economic reasons (very low salaries, no social taxes).
The quality is more or less the same with a "made in France" product but unfortunatly the final customer don't get the benefit of the chinese cost of production, the final price still remain the same.
for me :
"Made in China" = more benefits for bosses and more people out of work in my country. |

Do you say that there is Salomon factory in France and their production will cost to me exactly same amount of money?

I guess same thing can be said for any country that relatively rich than others. In Russia many low paid workplaces is taken by guest workers from post-soviet countries. Er-r-r-r... they are low paid because there are too many foreign workers who want to do the work for a small amount of money. By Russian standard they live in poverty, by their standard they have good work. Globalization... |

I wasn't aware that they use children on factories. This is not good of course. Anyway it is their children and their country. It is their right to do what they want in their country. |

Ender, I disagree with what you mean, children anywhere should not be working in any sweat shop. They should be children. Outside playing, growing and in school getting an education. Not working like adults in some sweat shop. It is sad that they use children to work in labor jobs while their parents are at home doing nothing but drinking or shooting up heroine. Big companies should also be fined for sending American jobs to other countries and hiring small children to their dirty work for little wages. I remember when Kathy Lee Gifford got into hot water for allowing her clothing line to be produced in China in a child's sweat shop. She lost her clothing line due to this. She was shamed in America. |

I say again, this is bad. However, there are many bad and unfair things in the world according to our point of view. Even if they are legal or standard in their countries. It doesn't mean that we should load our neural system with their problems. We can't help to the children whose parents are alcoholics or narcomans in our own country, why should we bother about Indian children/women/men? |

YES.
I have checked my running shoes for instance, 3 brands :
Nike : American -> made in Vietnam
Adidas : French/German -> made in China
Fila : Italian -> made in Indonesia
The cheapest costed me 60 EUR and I bought them 40% discount because they had the previous year design...
A well paid worker in China is paid 100USD/month, can you imagine the benefits these companies make ?

Delocalization is a problem, very low skilled immigration is another.
Both are very harmful in my opinion. |
