This bit of info might come in handy to those who are planning on visiting St.-Petersburg. It is about one a government project meant to improve the overall travel services infrastructure in the city, as part of ‘city marketing’ strategy.
Now every guest of St.-Petersburg could dial a free ‘Tourist Helpline’ number (3003333) to get an answer to any question concerning entertainment, transportation, accommodation, visa registration problems or anything a tourist might be interested in. The purpose of this helpline is not only to provide information in a number of the world’s most widely spoken languages, but to render other services as well.
The ‘City Concierge’ project launched this summer in partnership with one of the major mobile networks allows one to access the ‘Tourist Helpline’ on an internationally recognized emergency number free of roaming charges; the operators could help with any hotel reservations, ticket services, car rental, taxi services, flower delivery, excursions, personal guide services and (not the least of all) emergency situations. If a tourist needs to contact the police or call an ambulance, report a loss, a theft or any tort case, it could all be done most effectively through the ‘Tourist Helpline’. Their services are free, they hold an impressive database of organizations and events and keep in touch with a few government agencies, so anyone visiting the city could expect to find a solution to any sorts of problems through this helpline.
Hope this information will soon be attested to by those who have checked it out. |
